    Motorcycle riders injured in crash on I-84 near East Hartford

    EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – Two motorcyclist wwere injured in a crash on I-84 Eastbound between Exits 52 and 53 near East Hartford, according to State Police.

    Troopers responded to the crash at 3:44 p.m. on the Bulkeley Bridge. Two people on motorcycles were traveling east on I-84 in the right lane.

    One of the riders, 64-year-old Julio Vargas from Laredo, TX, was unable to adjust his speed for traffic and he crashed into the other motorcycle driven by 58-year-old Francisco Vargas from Hartford.

    Police report that both men suffered minor injuries. Julio Vargas was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and he was issued a written warning from police. His motorcycle was towed from the scene.

    Three lanes were closed on I-84 East bound between Exits 52 and 53 following the crashed but The Department of Transportation has reported that they’ve since reopened.

    We were there a few cars back a few min after it happened had to move out of the way for the police . we pray that the gentleman that was hurt will be ok. we hope for a fast recovery for you! 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️
