WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Three teenagers arrested last week for stealing a Hyundai Sonata have stolen vehicles in the past, according to Waterbury police.

The teens, who range in age from 15 to 17, have previous arrests. One has been accused of stealing two other cars.

The teens were taken into custody after Waterbury police saw the Hyundai parked Thursday in the area of Prospect Street and Linden Street. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of New Haven the previous day.

The three have been charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and first-degree criminal trover. Other juveniles were charged with interfering with police after running away from police.

During the investigation, police said that 20-year-old Rafael Ruiz-Gonzales, of Norwalk, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and operation of a drug factory. He has been released on a $5,000 bond.

How does a stolen car investigation lead to someone being arrested for having a drug factory? Did he have a gratuitous amount of weed and baggies?
