A wonderful space with a rich history where Veterans not only get to relax and enjoy each other’s company but also plan several fundraisers to give back to Connecticut communities and fellow Veterans.

    Serving those who’ve served.

“Port 5 is the national association of naval Veterans. It’s one of the oldest Veterans’ organizations with roots dating back to 1800’s,” said Executive Officer Brian Turco.

Settling in Bridgeport back in 1933.

“We are open to all Veterans and all active duty,” said Turco who reminds us all, to always honor our service members, past and present.

“We try to get the message out that vets should not be forgotten once they get off of active duty because that happens inevitably way too often,” said Turco.

Port 5 is a fun and safe space for vets.

“There’s nothing better than sitting around at the bar, having a beer with 10 or 20 other Veterans and breaking chops and swapping some stories. You feel safe, you feel comfortable- you are amongst friends and family,” said Turco.

    Bonded by service.

“We are a family. We don’t even have to talk about it, we just know it,” said Turco.

Giving back is a top priority for the Veterans who make up this non-profit.

“Port 5 supports many local vet organizations,” said Turco.

With a big event happening this week!

“We are bringing the wall that heals in,” said turco
