MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A former Meriden dispatcher in training is facing two felony computer crime charges after allegedly accessing the home address of an acquaintance illegally, according to Meriden officials.
26-year-old Jonathan Miller was due in Meriden court Thursday for an arraignment on the charges.
Bridgeport PD: 2 kids, mom critical after assault Assistant Director of Emergency Communications N’Koy Moore said police received a complaint on Aug. 25, alleging the Meriden Emergency Communications Division trainee had illegally accessed the Connecticut On Line Law Enforcement (Collect) to get the address.
Moore said he was employed as a Dispatched Trainee from July 24, 2023 to July 19, 2024 and terminated while on probationary status for reasons “other than this incident.”
A criminal investigation “immediately commenced” and law enforcement said they learned Miller had confessed to accessing the data and his Collect usage showed he had used the system twice to look up the victim’s information.
2 Meriden juveniles arrested after school threat investigation During an interview with police earlier this month, police said Miller admitted to the crime and acknowledged he knew it was wrong.
Miller was arrested on Sept. 12 and released on a promise to appear.
“Management at the Emergency Communications Center in the City of Meriden take this type
of criminal behavior very seriously. Any suspected misuse of the Connecticut On Line Law Enforcement (Collect) system will be investigated immediately and thoroughly. If proven to
be true, criminal charges will be sought and we will cooperate fully with any police
investigation to ensure that justice is served,” Moore said in a statement Thursday.
