    Norwich woman charged with attempted murder in stabbing of another woman

    NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) — A 45-year-old woman faces an attempted murder charge after she allegedly stabbed another woman on Thursday, according to police.

    Mary Beth Kostek was arrested and charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, first-degree assault, and cruelty to persons.

    Officers responded to a home on Briar Lane around 11:30 a.m. for the report of an assault and found two injured women. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment.

    Police said one of them sustained “significant” injuries from multiple puncture wounds to her upper body and is in stable condition.

    Kostek’s court-set bond was $1.5 million. She’s scheduled to be arraigned Friday.
