Pedestrian dies in Trumbull crash

TRUMBULL, Conn. (WTNH) — Police report that a pedestrian died from their injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Trumbull Saturday evening.

Multiple calls came in to police at 7:20 p.m. about a single vehicle hitting someone on Church Hill Road. Trumbull Police arrived on scene and rendered medical aid to the pedestrian.

Trumbull EMS then arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital to be treated for serious injuries, but they later died.

Police say the victim was walking across a dimly lit section of Church Hill Rd. when they were hit. The operator of the vehicle is a Trumbull resident who police say is cooperative with the investigation.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld as officials work to contact next of kin.

Church Hill Road was closed between Quality Street and Main Street, and reopened early Sunday morning at 2:00.
