1 driver killed and another injured in Easton crash

EASTON, Conn. (WTNH) — One person was taken to the hospital and another died after they crashed into each other Saturday evening in Easton, according to police.

The crash took place on Route 58, just south of Center Road. At 7:39 p.m., police were called to the scene where they found one vehicle on fire and the other seriously damaged.

The Easton Fire Department responded and put out the car fire. EMS transported one of the victims to a hospital. The other driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Route 58 was closed for several hours and has since reopened. This crash is under investigation by the Fairfield Police Crash Investigation Unit.
