HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Certain containers of LACTAID Milk sold in Connecticut are being recalled due to trace amounts of almonds, according to the Connecticut Department of Public Health on Monday.

Health officials say HP Hood LLC voluntarily recalled the product due to the serious or life-threatening consequences of almond not being listed on the label for those who are allergic.

The affected 96 oz containers were shipped to retailers and wholesalers from Sept. 5 to Sept. 18. They went to a variety of states, including Connecticut, health officials said.

The recall applies to a limited number of refrigerated containers- ones with the code 51-4109 P2 and with certain “best by” dates, which can be found on the US Food and Drug Administration’s website.

As of Monday, no related illnesses have been reported.

Anyone who purchased this product may return it for a full refund or exchange by bringing it back to where the original purchase was made or calling Hood Consumer Affairs at 800-242-2423.
