Pedestrian in critical condition after being hit by car in Norwich

NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) — A pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit by a car on Wednesday on the New London Turnpike, according to police.

The incident happened at around 6:30 a.m. The pedestrian had appeared to have serious injuries and was immediately transported to W.W. Backus Hospital, and then again to Hartford Hospital due to the extent of his injuries.

It is believed that the pedestrian ran in front of the vehicle, leading to the car striking him, police said.
