BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH) — An investigation by the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) found that standardized tests at an elementary school in Bristol were manipulated.

The allegations first came out in May, causing the district to place the principal of Ivy Drive Elementary School on paid administrative leave.

The CSDE hired an independent firm to investigate the allegations, to which they concluded that evidence found that an intentional breach occurred in the administration of the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) make-up testing at the school.

They said that while there was no direct evidence that the principal intentionally manipulated the test scores, there is “overwhelming” circumstantial evidence that she did so.
