    6-year-old seriously injured after being hit by school bus in Waterbury

    WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — A 6-year-old boy was hospitalized with serious but non-life threatening injuries after being hit by a school bus Thursday, according to Waterbury police.

    Police said a preliminary investigation showed the boy was hit after getting off the bus and while crossing the road to his parent.

    It happened on Garden Hill Circle around 4:10 p.m.

    On Friday, police said the child is in stable condition and continuing to recover at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.

    The incident remains under investigation by the Waterbury Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit.
