WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — West Hartford will be having its final Park Road Parade this weekend, marking the end of a 25 year run.

New plan for downtown West Hartford includes ‘flexible’ public spaces, keeps ‘charm’

The event shows off the community’s favorite clubs, organizations, schools, churches, bands, businesses and more. Organizers say that it’s bittersweet to wrap things up this year.

“The parade was only intended to be one year, and it was supposed to be a celebration at the completion of a two-year road reconstruction project,” Renee McCue, a public relations specialist for the town of West Hartford, said.

Dozens of groups are expected to participate on Saturday and thousands are expected to attend.

Traditions are a very bad thing in the north east. Too much white guilt. Who cares if it started as a one time thing? How many beloved events are there that started just from some random show or something
