Crews began to extinguish the flames by stretching multiple fire hoses aimed at the garage, second floor, attic, and various sections of the home’s exterior.

Five animals were rescued, and two, a cat and a dog, died as a result of smoke inhalation.

Two kittens were unharmed, and a cat was sent for further treatment. It is now doing well.

The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
