    Man’s car found 150 feet into the woods after crashing in Torrington

    TORRINGTON, Conn (WTNH) — A man is being treated for serious injuries after he lost control of his vehicle and halted 150 feet off the roadway.

    Tuesday night, just before 9:30 p.m., the Torrington Police Department responded to a single-vehicle accident near Sink Hole Bridge and Winsted Road.

    At the scene, officers witnessed a gray 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser 150 feet off the roadway and into the woods.

    Police investigation determined the operator was driving south on Winsted Road when he approached a curve. Police said the operator lost control of his vehicle, struck a guardrail, and halted 150 feet off the roadway and into the woods.

    The driver was rushed to St. Mary’s Hospital with serious injuries.

    Torrington police are asking anyone with information on this crash to call Officer Curtin at 860-489-2090.
