Day two of Amazon’s deal days means another round of deals from competing retailers.

As you log on to scroll, shop, and add to your cart, the Better Business Bureau has tips to shop safely.

Before you click links on your phone, you should know that text scams are rising. If you think you’ve spotted a good deal be sure to double-check the retailer’s website. Don’t click on ads, texts, or emails to be safe.

Next, understand return policies. Make sure there is a return option if you’re shopping at a retailer for the first time. No policy is a sign of a scam.

If you’re shopping on a site for the first time, take a moment to read the company reviews and complaints. You can go to the BBB’s website for that.

Always pay with a credit card. It offers protections that paying with a debit card does not.

The idea is to save money this week. Although, scammers may see a shopping frenzy as an opportunity as well.

Be sure to look out for lookalike websites. Be sure to visit a retailer’s site instead of going through ad links to ensure you’re shopping with the retailer you think you are.

Reading reviews is good during deal events, anyway. You may find money-savers are happening on some less desirable items.

Remember saving money only works if you’re getting an item worth spending.
