HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Quinnipiac University’s president Judy Olian says she’s recovering after being struck by a pickup truck while biking in Arizona last week.

In a statement released to the school community, Olian said the truck struck her from behind, causing injury to her back.

She said she’s continuing to work while receiving treatment- which may include wearing a brace over the next few months.

In August, Olian announced she would be resigning after the current academic year.

While the announcement did not cite a reason for the decision, she said she’ll work on nonprofit and corporation boards afterward.

Olian has led the university since 2018.
