The charges stem from the early morning of Aug. 6, 2022, when officers were dispatched to the Main Street bar for a shooting. They later learned it had followed an altercation inside the bar which turned physical.

Upon arrival, officers found three victims- all of who were transported to a hospital for treatment.

One of the victims later died at the hospital. He was identified as 26-year-old Julius Bolden-Lowe of Southington.

In a statement released Wednesday, Police Chief Edward Lennon said the arrest is a pivotal moment in delivering justice for Bolden-Lowe’s family.

“Our detectives along with our law enforcement partners have worked tirelessly over the past two years to ensure that every possible lead was thoroughly investigated. It is our hope that this arrest marks the beginning of closure and justice for the family of Julius Bolden-Lowe,” Lennon said.

Thompson is being held on a $2,000,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 9.
