It was a mostly dry day with highs back in the 60s. Lots of sunshine in the forecast for Thursday and Friday with highs holding in the upper 50s to mid 60s.

Milton is bearing down on the West Coast of Florida. Right now, it is a Category 4 hurricane with winds sustained at 130 MPH, gusting to 175 MPH. Rain and tornadoes are already tearing up the Sunshine State. The latest track and intensity from the National Hurricane Center shows Milton weakening a bit, but still a dangerous major hurricane as it makes landfall somewhere between Clearwater and Venice. Don’t pay attention to the term ‘weakening’. Whether it’s a 3, 4, or 5, the storm surge will cause catastrophic damage, especially for the barrier islands like Anna Maria, Longboat Key, Siesta Key, Manasota Key, and Sanibel Island. Folks need to heed all evacuation warnings! Milton is not coming to Connecticut.
