The school’s culinary class got to try making pizza alongside the owner of Domenic and Vinnie’s Pizza. Teachers said that this kind of lesson teaches kids important life skills.

“We [have] been doing this for a long time,” Michael Annenberg, owner of Domenic and Vinnie’s pizza, said. “Basically, our work force is our kids. so when I have a chance to show these kids what to do — and I may get a couple of employees out of it — it has a bunch of rewarding benefits.”

School leaders said that they were able to use state and city funding to get all-new kitchen equipment to step up the culinary program.
