    Suspects charged with August robbery, shooting in Waterbury

    WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Waterbury police say two suspects have been arrested in connection to a robbery and shooting incident in August.

    Police responded to the 20 block of William Street on Aug. 17 to find a 30-year-old man from Waterbury with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

    Suspects charged with human trafficking in Bristol

    Through their investigation, police said they identified two suspects allegedly involved in the crime. Both are convicted felons who are not permitted to possess weapons.

    According to police, Joshua Rodriguez, 24, of Waterbury was arrested on Sept. 9. He was charged with:

    • First-degree robbery with a deadly weapon
    • First-degree conspiracy to commit robbery with a deadly weapon
    • First-degree criminal liability for acts of another at assault with a firearm
    • First-degree assault with a firearm
    • Criminal possession of firearm/ammunition
    • Criminal possession of pistol/revolver
    • Carrying a pistol without a permit

    29-year-old Brett Foster of New Haven was arrested on Oct. 9. Police said he was charged with

    • First-degree assault with a firearm
    • First-degree robbery with a deadly weapon
    • First-degree conspiracy to commit robbery with a deadly weapon
    • Criminal possession of firearm/ammunition
    • Criminal possession of pistol/revolver
    • Carrying a pistol without a permit
    • Illegal operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license

    Both suspects are being held on bond by the Connecticut Department of Corrections.
