BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH) — A motorcyclist attempting to maneuver a roadway curve at a high rate of speed was pronounced dead in Bristol.

At midnight on Saturday, a Bristol police sergeant was stationed on the westbound side of Farmington Ave. when a pair of motorcyclists sped by.

The sergeant began pursuing the drivers and discovered that one had crashed after failing to manage a curve in the roadway.

Medical aid was administered to the motorcyclist, who was then transported to a hospital and later pronounced dead.

Police say the other motorcyclist stayed at the scene of the crash.

The identity of the victim is not being released pending next of kin notification.

Bristol police’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team responded to and closed the area for investigation. The roadway reopened Saturday morning at 6:00.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact them at 860-584-3038.
