NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) — Three men were arrested after they were caught on camera engaging in hand-to-hand narcotic sales at a bus station in New Britain.
On Friday afternoon, state police responded to the CT Fastrak in Downtown New Britain after the bus station’s camera system showed narcotics and cash exchanges being carried out by three men.
Police took detailed descriptions of each male and continued to investigate.
In the area, troopers spotted, stopped, and spoke with 52-year-old Urbina Eliezer, who revealed “two orange wax papers.” When Troopers asked Eliezer where he got the drugs, he provided the same description of the three men at the bus station.
Troopers then arrested 40-year-old Shantee Seay from New Britain; 29-year-old Jan DelaCruz from Meriden; and 33-year-old Travon Jenkins from Middletown.
Seay was charged with conspiracy to commit the illegal sale of a narcotic and substance and criminal trespass in the third degree. He was released on a $20,000 bond and will be arraigned at the New Britain Superior Court on Nov. 6.
Jenkins was charged with conspiracy to commit illegal sale of a narcotic and substance and criminal trespass in the third degree. Jenkins was released on a $15,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 29 at the New Britain Superior Court.
DelaCruz was unable to post his $50,000 bond and faces charges of illegal sale of a narcotic substance and criminal trespass third degree. DelaCruz also had three separate court-issued warrants that ranged from failure to appear and violation of probation.
Eliezer, the man who presented drugs to Troopers, was issued a misdemeanor summons and charged with illegal possession of a controlled substance. A $500 bond was given to him and he was released from custody at the scene.
Eliezer will be arraigned on Oct. 28 at the New Britain Superior Court.
