    Quinnipiac University student crowned Miss India Worldwide 2024

    HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A Griswold native and student at Quinnipiac University was crowned Miss India Worldwide 2024 last month, according to the university.

    “Winning Miss India Worldwide is such an incredible honor. It’s more than a crown – it represents my heritage, my values, and the opportunity to inspire others on a global scale,” business student Dhruvi Patel said in a statement.

    She was crowned in Edison, New Jersey in mid-September.

    The Miss India Worldwide beauty pageant includes contestants from India and from members of the Indian diaspora residing in other countries. It’s organized by the New York-based India Festival Committee and celebrated its 31st anniversary this year.
