BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH) — 100-year-old Joseph Caminiti and his friends start their days at the Edge Gym in Bristol.

Wednesday’s Warrior: Milford Navy veteran reflects on life of service ahead of 100th birthday

“Yesterday was my 100th birthday and we’ve been partying all week,” Caminiti said.

The centenarian claims he’s able to keep up thanks in part to his time in the gym. Caminiti is a World War II veteran and has witnessed more than 12 presidential elections in his century on Earth. He received accolades from people like Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn) and Bristol Mayor Jeffrey Caggiano.

Caminiti is Connecticut’s last Iwo Jima survivor.
