2 men rescued after boat capsizes at New Haven Lighthouse Point

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Two men and a dog are safe on Monday after their boat capsized at Lighthouse Point in New Haven, requiring crews to come rescue them, according to fire officials.

The incident happened at around 4 p.m. The men became stranded on some rocks while waiting for crews to help, and the firefighters managed to pull them to safety by a rope operation.

The fire department said that if you plan on boating at this time of year, to check the conditions and wear a life jacket.
