Motorcyclist seriously injured after crash in Suffield

SUFFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — Suffield police say a motorcyclist was seriously injured after colliding with a car on Route 159 Tuesday morning.

The crash happened around 7:05 a.m. in the area of 59 East Street South/Route 159.

Preliminary investigation showed a car was traveling north on Route 159 when it made a left turn and the motorcycle collided with a passenger side of the car.

The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

The driver and passenger in the other vehicle reported no injuries. Police said they are cooperating with the investigation.

The North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Squad is conducting an investigation into the crash.

As of 9:30 a.m., police said Route 159 remained closed from Conservation Road to Audubon Drive. Around 2:30 p.m., police announced the road was reopen.
