An autopsy was completed, but the cause and manner of his death is listed as “pending further studies” until toxicology and further examinations can be done.

The fire happened around 2:30 p.m. at 14 Ivory Way on Friday, Oct. 11. Police said it was contained to the upstairs bathroom, where fire crews found the man after the fire was extinguished.

He was pronounced deceased on scene.

The origin of the fire is under investigation by Bloomfield Center Fire, Fire Marshall and the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit.
