    14-year-old Waterbury student arrested after allegedly bringing BB gun to school

    WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — A 14-year-old Waterbury student was charged Tuesday after allegedly bringing a BB gun to school, according to police.

    Police said they responded to Gilmartin Elementary School for a weapons complaint after school staff said a student was suspected of bringing a firearm onto school grounds.

    The student was found with a BB gun inside their backpack, which was found in their locker, according to police.

    They were taken into custody and charged with second-degree breach of peace, weapon on school grounds, and brandishing a facsimile firearm.
