WALLINGFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The heat is back on at Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford after issues with the heating system closed school for two days this week.

The school operated on a three-hour delay on Thursday and was closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

In a message to families, Wallingford Superintendent Danielle Bellizzi said that the school’s boilers are no longer operational due to age.

While she said they’ve taken steps to purchase and install new ones, supply chain issues and delays slowed that down.

A temporary boiler has been installed, and they’re working on a delivery and installation date for three new ones.

News 8 has learned from Wallingford’s board of education that the town council has appropriated about $900,000 for this purchase.

Operations at the school are now back to normal.
