OHIO, MARSHALL, & WETZEL COUNTIES (WTRF) – Two weeks – That’s all the time there is left for renters and homeowners affected by the April 11th and 12th severe storms and flooding to apply for FEMA assistance.

That deadline for those living in Hancock, Marshall, Ohio, and Wetzel Counties is Tuesday, September 3rd.

You may qualify for rental assistance, basic home repairs, personal property losses, and other eligible expenses related to damage from the disaster.

FEMA representative Trey Paul says that many folks have been dealing with flooding but visiting their disaster recovery centers can help find what fits your needs.

”We also want to let folks know that we’ll get you in and out. So, if you don’t have a lot of time, maybe you’re stopping in on your lunch break, we’ve streamlined the process so we’re not going to keep you there very long, but we’ll stay there as long as you need us. We’ll answer as many questions as you ask. But yes, if you want to get in and out, we can certainly accommodate you. Again, we are open Monday through Saturday, 8am until 6pm. A lot of folks stop out on lunch breaks. They stop by after work. We’re there until six. And again, if you can’t make it, then just always give us a call.”

That number to call is 800-621-3362, or you can go online to disasterassistance.gov .

If you would like to visit them in person, you can stop by the centers at 25 Armory Drive in Wheeling, or the New Cumberland Municipal Building on Court Street.
