Brody lost out on a chance to be the 7News Pet Of The Week because of a scheduling problem.

But his story needs to be told, so here it is!

Brody was rescued by Belmont County Hoof and Paw from a horrendous situation.

He’s up for adoption, but he has…well…strong preferences.

“He’s fixed, he is about five years old,” said Julie Larish, humane agent for Belmont County Hoof and Paw. “We do believe he is like a Pomeranian/Spaniel mix, and that’s what we’re guessing. I think he’s more Heinz 57. But he was taken in a hoarding case. And he is an absolute delight. His only vice is he really needs to be with a woman who, um, doesn’t have a husband! Because he does not like men in his own territory. And if the woman feels the littlest bit threatened, he’s gonna let the guy know he needs to leave. He is great with animals. He even gets along with our chickens, he gets along with cats, he loves other dogs. He just likes to hunker down on the bed and makes himself comfortable. He loves to be covered up. If I leave the room and I don’t have everything tacked down enough, he’ll be under the covers waiting on me. So he’s house trained. So if there’s a single woman who’s out there who’s alone and who’s a little bit afraid to be alone, this is the perfect dog.”

To find out more or make an appointment to meet Brody, you can call Belmont County Hoof and Paw at (610) 314-5203 or (740) 310-0615.
