    CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WTRF) –

Governor Jim Justice, as Chairman of the West Virginia School Building Authority, announced a groundbreaking investment Wednesday as the SBA approved an award of nearly $150 million for new schools and renovations across 18 counties.

This latest funding builds upon a previous award of $111 million last December, bringing the total awards for Fiscal Year 2024 to an unprecedented $261 million, setting a new standard for educational infrastructure support in West Virginia.

Brooke County is on the receiving end of some of those funds, as they’ll be getting more than 6 million dollars to be used for interior plumbing renovations at Brooke County High School.
