MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. ( WTRF ) – Moundsville city officials met Wednesday morning to figure out what the next steps are for the new city building after the original contracting company hired filed for bankruptcy a few weeks ago.

City Manager Rick Healy says the city’s construction attorney is in the process of working with the bonding company to develop a “takeover agreement” that suits the needs of all involved parties.

The city says the agreement will allow a new general contractor to be assigned to the project.

Healy says, “In the meantime, we are having an inspection of the progress to date, and a review of all the work.”

This is a developing story. Stay with 7News for updates.
