BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WTRF) — St. Clairsville will be celebrating Cinco De Mayo a little early this year.

The holiday’s name literally means the fifth of May.

But the second annual Cinco de Mayo Block Party will actually be held Friday evening, May 3.

It’s a party all along Main Street in the city.

It’s put on by the St. Clairsville Main Street Small Business Association.

Restaurants will feature festive-themed foods, specialty drinks, live music, face painting, and photo props for selfies.

And for those with a competitive streak, there’s something for you, too.

We host a scavenger hunt at all our local businesses. So you visit each business, get a check mark off your map and then at the end you can enter to win multiple prizes that we’ll be having this year from our local businesses and the grand prize will be gift certificates from all of our Main Street businesses.

    They say it’s both family-friendly and adult-friendly.

It will start at 4 p.m. on May 3 and run throughout the evening.

It’s all along Main Street, from Sugar Street to Marietta.

Or, in the words of the merchants, it’s from one traffic light to the other.
