MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. (WTRF) — We are now 3 days into early voting for the West Virginia Primary election. Early voting began Wednesday across the Mountain State for anyone who wants to vote before election day.

To qualify for early voting all you need is to be a registered voter in West Virginia and be able to provide some form of voter ID.

Early voting polls in Marshall County are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. They are also open on the two Saturdays leading up to election day from 9 am to 5 pm.

The County Clerk in Marshall County, Connie Howard shares the many benefits of voting before the May 14 primary.

”Early voting is very convenient for the voter if they don’t want to wait or if they’ve got plans on Election Day, then that way they can go ahead and vote early, be assured that their vote counts. It’s a convenience, sometimes people have to travel a few miles to get to their precinct. In my opinion, it’s more convenient. You don’t have that worry and maybe forgetting that it’s Election Day, and then you didn’t get a chance to vote. So, you’ve got 11 days.”

With this being a primary election you will have to choose your party based on how you registered.

Early voting will run until May 11 with election day happening on May 14.
