A West Virginia bakery won first place at Dessert Wars and will now compete at Nationals later this year.

Sweet Abe’s Bakeshop in Wheeling, WV was recently crowned first place for the People’s Choice at Dessert Wars Pittsburgh.

Dessert Wars is a celebration of the “foodie” lifestyle, featuring dessert vendors vying for the title of Dessert Champion. The event features a wide array of desserts ranging from cupcakes, cookies, ice cream and doughnuts.

Dessert Wars was held in Pittsburgh on April 27.

Sweet Abe’s Bakeshop wrote this on Social Media after their win.

“We’re far beyond proud to announce that Abbie won 1ST PLACE People’s Choice at Dessert Wars Pittsburgh and will now get the opportunity to compete at Nationals later this year! We would like to express extreme gratitude to everyone who has supported us and her dream in the short amount of time that Sweet Abe’s has been in operation. Without everyone’s support, none of this would be possible. Thank you so much and we look forward to doing even more great things in the time to come!”
