Wheeling holding public meeting on city plans

WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) –

If you live in or around the Wheeling area and have an idea or vision for the city, now is the time to have your voice heard.

City officials will be hosting the second of four public workshops to help form a 10 year comprehensive plan for the city’s future.

The workshop will take place at Wheeling University’s Troy Theatre.

It gets underway Thursday evening at 5:30 and will ask the public’s input on a number of topics.
Some of the topics include culture, livable neighborhoods and economic development.

They will be led brainstorming sessions. So we want to know what you think and what you see in your neighborhoods. And it truly is, we want to hear the people and not just download information to them.

The Mountain State requires cities to provide a comprehensive plan that helps form decisions about topics such as zoning, economic development and public services.

Everyone who attends will be eligible for a gift card from various Center Market businesses.
