Heritage Music BluesFest plugs in amps for Day 2

WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) — You really could not ask for a more perfect night for some great music along the beautiful banks of the Ohio River.

That’s exactly what nearly 2,000 music fans were treated to at the 23rd annual Heritage Music BluesFest.

Many folks traveled a long way to the to the Friendly City for a weekend to check out some of the nation’s top blues performers.

According to the festival’s founder and organizer Bruce Wheeler, the event drew fans from over 20 states and several countries.

For some of the fans it was their first visit to the Wheeling festival and they had some rave reviews.

“Awesome! I would recommend anybody come out to this. It’s a good time. Good music, beautiful weather. A short drive from Cleveland. Come here to see this amount of music. It’s a great value for just hanging out with friends and family.”

The late-night fun continued with the BluesFest After Jam across the street at Waterfront Hall, hosted by Bluesfest performer Billy the Kid.

The fun kicks back up Sunday at 1 pm, when Joe Waters hits the stage.
