    Ohio County Schools welcomes personnel for the start of the new school year

    ELM GROVE, W.Va. (WTRF) – Monday was the first day back to school for teachers at Ohio County Schools, and many new faces could be seen at elementary, middle, and high school levels.

    Some of which were recognized and officially hired for the 2024-2025 school year at the most recent Board of Education meeting.

    The majority of the new personnel are Ohio Valley natives, and say they are excited to give back to the community that gave so much to them.

    ”I went to Ohio County schools in the nineties, and I have a husband who teaches for Ohio County Schools and I have two children who are both part of Ohio County Schools right now. And I’ve just seen the community that is built and the support that everyone gives each other, and I’ve wanted to be part of that for a really long time.”

    New positions such as a Central Office school psychologist and a Community in Schools Liaison were also introduced for the upcoming school year.

    The first day of school for Ohio County Schools students is this Friday, August 16 th .
