WEST VIRGINIA (WTRF) – Thousands of college students are getting ready to head back to class–many of them on their own and in control of their own affairs for the first time.

This makes them a target to scammers advertising employment opportunities.

West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey is urging consumers to be cautious of work from home positions that seem appealing for extra income and flexibility.

Attorney General Morrisey warns against generic titles, check the alleged business for a legitimate website and phone number, and be wary of “immediate start” and “no experience necessary.”
