Check those final back-to-school supplies off your list at Brooke Hancock FRN Backpack and Resource Fair

WEIRTON, W.Va. (WTRF) — At a time when new school clothes and materials are stretching the budget for so many parents, the Brooke Hancock Family Resource Network is checking those lingering items off the supply list.

Its Backpack and Resource Fair next Saturday is offering backpacks, scissors and headphones to help your child walk in prepared the first day.

Food and entertainment will be provided for all ages, with resource vendors on hand to answer any remaining back-to-school questions.

The Fair committee says they hope to ease parents’ uncertainty at any grade level.

“Families might not know exactly what to expect if this is their first child entering into the school system, how much supplies they may need, and also the families that have some of those older kiddos, high school students, there’s not as many resources available for the high school students.”

The supply giveaway begins August 24th from 10 to 2 at Weirton Elementary, with different entry times depending on your child’s grade level.

• Pre-K through 1st grade: 10 – 11 am
• 2nd through 4th grade: 11 am – 12 pm
• 5th grade and up: 12 – 2 pm

Students will also enjoy popsicles with their principals, thanks to a partnership with Communities in Schools.
