FOLLANSBEE, W.Va. (WTRF) — No one is injured after a business and residential building caught fire in Follansbee.

Fire Chief Larry Rea says the call came in just after 3 pm Saturday along Main Street.

The fire began on the first floor, an upholstery repair shop, and spread to the second floor containing an apartment.

The tenant of that apartment was not home at the time of the blaze.

Rea says the structure is most likely from the 1910s and its balloon framing meant extinguishing the fire took around four hours.

The building is believed to be a total loss and a cause is not currently known.

Hooverson Heights and Weirton assisted Follansbee with the response.

Why is he allowed to fill both positions? Obviously, one or both jobs are not being filled efficiently.
