West Virginia ranked the least fun state in new 2024 survey

A new survey has named West Virginia as the least fun state in the United States.

WalletHub compared the 50 states across 26 key indicators of a jolly good time that won’t break the bank. They range from movie costs to accessibility of national parks to nightlife options per capita.

West Virginia ranked dead last when it came to entertainment & recreation according to Wallethub and one of their metrics. regarding nightlife in West Virginia, the Mountain State was a little better coming in 41st.

West Virginia tied for last in Variety of Arts, Entertainment & Recreation Establishments with Alaska and California. The best state, Maine, has 2x the difference of Variety of Arts, Entertainment & Recreation Establishments according to Wallethub.

The Mountain State also came in another metric, Personal Expenditures on Recreation Services per Capita.

Regarding states that border West Virginia, Ohio ranks 15th, Pennsylvania ranks 13th, Maryland ranks 19th, Kentucky ranks 42nd, and Virginia ranks 26th.
