WV Attorney General Stops in Wheeling, Discusses Trump Campaign

Wheeling, W.Va (WTRF) West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey made a stop in Wheeling earlier today.

He spoke on a range of topics including Former President Donald Trump’s campaign for the 2024 election.

He said Trump is doing a good job staying on message and focusing on issues that matter in his campaign and that voters will be mainly concerned with two big issues, immigration and inflation.

These two issues, he says, could be enough to propel Trump back to the White House.

“These are the issues that matter in West Virginia, but they matter across the country and a lot of the swing states. We’re not far from Pennsylvania and if people are listening to this right now, they know they care about inflation, they care about the runaway impact of all the undocumented aliens and the deadly fentanyl that’s coming into our states. I think President Trump is the only one that has a clear vision and policy on that.”

Over the last four years, prices for basic goods such as rent, food, and gasoline have skyrocketed, while wages have not kept up.

According to factcheck.org, there have been 6.5 million encounters at the southern border with Mexico from February 2021 to October 2023.

These statistics, however, do not include the number of “gotaways” or those who successfully evaded Border Patrol agents.

Morrisey believes that if Trump focuses on these issues, he has a good chance at winning the election later this year.
