Wheeling University welcomes new freshmen class to campus

WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) — Wheeling University welcomes one of their largest classes with 280 students spanning 26 states and 28 countries.

Freshmen spent the morning moving into their dorms and settling into their new space.

President of Enrollment Jennifer Board says this is an exciting time when students from all over come together to begin their academic journey.

This is like one of the best days ever, right? Some of these families we’ve talked to for over a year, year plus, and this is the first time seeing them. Everybody’s here to make it feel like a nice small home for them, so they know that it’s going to be ok.”

Over the weekend, students will participate in Make a Difference Day, carrying out the school’s mission by volunteering around the university and the Wheeling area.
