Over 100 bikers attend annual Poker Run supporting Shriners Hospitals for Children

WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) — Over 100 people came out to Wheeling today to support one of the top non-profit children’s hospitals in the country.

The Osiris Shrine’s Legion of Honor in Elm Grove and Roughnecks hosted its 10th annual Poker Run on Sunday.

Riders put their kickstands up around 12 p.m. and made several different stops in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

After the riders returned, there was a variety of different raffles for people to participate in, and all the proceeds made at the event will go directly to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.

The organizers of the event share just how much it means to have so many people come out to support such a great cause.

It means a lot, I mean, to the Shriner kids that we support and the community getting our name out there and everything else to let them know who we are.”

Last year, there was 86 riders. This year we’re over 110. So, it’s growing every year.”

All our stops is either at an American Legion or a VFW because we are a military group within the shrine.”

This year, the Roughnecks Motorcycle Club, which consists of first responders, veterans, and other law-enforcement personnel, co-sponsored the event.
