Wheeling Vintage Raceboat Regatta returns on Labor Day

Wheeling, W.Va. (WTRF) – Race boat fans, listen up! Labor Day is almost here and you know what that means!

The Wheeling Vintage Raceboat Regatta will be making a splash, celebrating it’s 17th year this weekend at Heritage Port.

This free event is one that showcases different classes of vintage race boats along with several different racers.

The regatta benefits the EasterSeals Rehabilitation Center right here in Wheeling.

“Got race boats coming from as far away as Wisconsin, New Hampshire, Vermont, Florida, North Carolina. We’re very excited. We have given over in the 17, 16 previous years, we have given over $100,000 to EasterSeals from proceeds from the regatta.”

Regatta Co-Director Debbie Joseph says none of this would be possible without their sponsors–especially their title sponsor, WesBanco.

It’s all set to take place from this Friday to Sunday. As always, admission is free.
