Brooke Bruins: 2024 High School Football Preview

Casey Goff comes to Brooke with 23 years of coaching experience, mostly at the college level and most recently at the College of New Jersey.

But he’s ready to put his stamp on the Bruins program.

“We want to establish a new culture, the kids understand where they are and the tradition that’s involved at Brooke. We want these guys to understand that they’ve got to refocus on themselves in this group. It’s about us as individuals it’s about us as a 2024 team building our own legacy setting our own standard and understanding it’s going to take time it’s going to be a process.”

Offensively, he plans to use a lot of one-back and two-back sets and spread the field.

Junior Ty Speringer will take the snaps at quarterback to run the offense. Senior Dante’ Tulenko will handle a lot of the carries at running back with junior Marcus Reed at the B back. Senior Slater Schroder will help anchor the offensive line.

“We’re going to be a team that needs to move at a pretty fast pace, so were going to try to develop as many one way guys as we can so we can push the pace. But we just want consistency out of them were not going to be super flashy were just going to try to do the minimal in terms of what we run systematically.”

Defensively they will be a three or four down front with Schroder at and end , Garrett Moore at linebacker, and Tristan Stevens at safety. That side of the ball gets Coach Goff excited.

“What about defensively? We want to fly around, we want to fly around. To me defense is about lining up correctly it’s about flying to the football it’s about bringing bad intentions when you get there it’s about tackling so were going to be mixing things up a little bit more on the defensive side of things.”
