MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. (WTRF) — Vendors and crowds of community members came out to Marshall County on Tuesday to enjoy some delicious food while also supporting a great cause.

The Shepherd’s Pantry hosted their 2nd annual Food Truck Festival today in the Simpson United Methodist Church parking lot in Moundsville.

The event featured Izzy’s Food Truck, Shreff’s Hometown Barbeque, Ig’s Pigs Barbeque, Mr. Sweet, and The Gringo. After the event each food truck will donate a portion of their proceeds from today to the Shepherd’s Pantry.

One of the organizers of the event shares how much it means to see so many people come out to support those who are in need.

”I like seeing it because it tells us about our community that they’re here to help people. They’re not going to turn their backs on people when they need help. They’re here to help and this is what I like to see, and I want to see about continuing doing this. And I’d like to see if some of these people here would eventually be able to volunteer.”

James Barlip – President, Board Member, Shepherd’s Pantry

The Shepherd’s Pantry provides 30 days worth of food to those who are eligible based on USDA food guidelines for income. The pantry is at 601 Jefferson Ave. in Moundsville. To learn more about the Shepherd’s Pantry click HERE .
