    Martins Ferry City School District employee arrested at athletic event

    MARTINS FERRY, Ohio (WTRF) – A Martins Ferry City School District employee was arrested and taken into custody according to a press release sent out by Superintendent Jim Fogle on Tuesday.

    According to Fogle, an incident occurred on Monday, August 26 during a Martins Ferry Junior High athletic event held at Cambridge City School District.

    The release also stated that all Martins Ferry students and staff who were participating in the event are safe, and students were transported home by parents who were in attendance.

    Martins Ferry Schools Administration is investigating the incident, and any findings of misconduct will be handled in accordance with the Martins Ferry Schools policy.

    Martins Ferry City School District says, “The safety of students and staff members is and will always be the Board of Education’s top priority.”
